The past few days have been nothing but creative bliss for me. I’ve acquired new crafting supplies, written letters on beautifully decorated stationery and have even begun designing and making some patterned paper prints to use in scrapbooking/card-making. The patterned paper I’ve made on a website called COLOURLovers! It’s so much fun!!! Most of the patterns have been ones I colored in and I owe it all to browsing online and having first found the blog Ruffled Sunshine. What a great tool this is for creating papers to use in one’s everyday crafting. I am going to start looking to use my own designs soon too.
Here’s just a sample of what I created myself (it’s simple but lovely):
Color Me Tranquil Design
I hope to play around with it some more and get more familiarized with the program as I progress. Good thing I am a fast learner! I was able to “discover” and name several new colors. 13 colors to be exact. Well, I’m off to create some more beautiful things which I shall post on here soon!
200 Years of Pride and Prejudice + New Additions to my Personal Library
New Additions to the Library
Some of you know that I am participating in Austenprose’s Pride and Prejudice Bicentenary Challenge as I posted on here earlier with a list of books I was going to read and movies I was going to watch pertaining to the challenge. I had thought initially to try and find some of the books in the library (except, of course, Pride and Prejudice itself since I have my own excellent copy of the work) but on a moment of perusing on Amazon I found all three of the other books I had purposed to read and decided to take the plunge and add them to my library!
Above is a photograph of my new books fresh out of the package on Friday the night they arrived. They are beautiful and I am eager to read them. Have you bought any new books lately?
Flowers at home.
Canon Powershot Point & Shoot Film Camera
35mm Automatic Zoom Lens
This was the image that spurred me onto a love of photography. It was the first image I truly ever composed and in the nick of time. The light from the window was streaming in perfectly, the colors were just right. And I was only 16 years old.
Split Pea, Spinach and Leek Soup
I posted in my Sundays & Mondays blog about my desire to lead a healthier lifestyle and a more ethical one as well so it will come as no surprise to you that I have decided to finally take the plunge and convert to a completely vegan lifestyle. I am not here to convince any of you of the virtues of such a lifestyle, it is just my own personal choice and conviction and if you find inspiration in it then I am happy to continue to share this part of my life’s journey with you. I have found several blogs featuring vegan recipes and I also aim to share my own food creations here with you. Last night I made a Split Pea, Spinach and Leek Soup recipe which I found on the Mouthwatering Vegan Recipes blog. Tonight I plan on making another recipe I found there and I encourage you to visit this site for more delicious recipes by Miriam. She even has a book coming out which I hope to be able to buy soon.
This morning my breakfast was simple but filling. I had the following:
Sprouted grain bread with organic natural peanut butter and organic fresh bananas.
What are your favorite recipes? Are there any tips for a newbie vegan as myself that you could share to help encourage to maintain the lifestyle?
Blank greeting cards, free gift with the last issue of Mollie Makes I purchased at Barnes and Noble.
I am back home, back to my little place in this world. I had a great time during my stay on the island but it is nice to be back to my people, my things and my activities. A lot of letter writing will be going on today, along with painting, creating and photo editing. A beautiful Sunday to you all!
A little taste of what I see on a daily basis living in Florida.
Sunday was a beautiful day for being out and about here in Southwestern Florida. Among the places I visited today, St. Armands was a joy to be in. I was able to photograph some beautiful flowers with my iPhone 4s and decided it would be a floral walk. I took photos with Hipstamatic and want to share the end result with you all. Enjoy!
